In addition to this being my final term, I am so grateful to be chosen as an Inaugural Senior Law Fellow for the MJ-LEL program. How can the information and experience I know now, help those that started the program after me? This is such an amazing opportunity to help support my peers in this program with resources, frequently asked questions, best practices, insight and coaching. This support is meant to help navigate a forward pathway to success through the work, module by module, if needed. I am so excited!
A little about me at work.
I currently work as a Vice President of Human Resources at a nonprofit, Roca Inc.
I was first exposed to Human Resources in my retail days working at Lord & Taylor and Ann Taylor Loft. Working in retail, definitely exposed me to the good, bad and the unusual when it came to working with employees, the employer, and the general public. In my earlier career days, I had to do it all. I am a true HR generalist and can change my "hats" when working through the employee life cycle. I took on any "hat" to continue to learn more and practice my work.
I love my field. I love working with people. I love being a part of influencing what the workplace has the potential to look like for employers and employees.
A little about me outside of work.
I am originally from Rhode Island but currently live in Massachusetts. I value my family and friends, time, and kindness.
My family and I love to travel and spend time with one another. My husband and I have two amazing children and I cherish the time I have with them. At this moment, they are okay spending time with me, but I know that balance will soon shift. For now, I am their bestie and I am grateful for it. HA!
In 2021, I wanted to professionally develop myself and I had a friend tell me about Tulane. We both looked into it and my first thought was...."Law School? I can't possibly......" I did a little reading and thought, "Well the worst that can happen is they say, "No Thank You." I submitted my application, however, my friend decided that this was not the right time for her. A week later I received my acceptance letter! I had all the feels. I told my family...."Well, looks like I am going to Tulane Law School!"
It's been an amazing ride. I have learned so much and met so many kind and loving people in this program. I am looking forward to this achievement. Can't wait to say, ""Well, looks like I am GRADUATING from Tulane Law School!"
