Thomas Johnson

MJ, Employment and Labor Law, Tulane Law School Class of 2023

My name is Tom Johnson and I love HR and the Law.I have worked in HR for the last 25 years. I started in HR because I really wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. I was going to be a Physician like my father but found out I do not like blood so the other way I felt I could make a difference was from the other side of the desk.

I started my career in healthcare working for nursing home companies as a Recruiter and quickly realized how much more I liked HR as I was able to effect change on a higher level.I went to school in my mid-thirties and received my bachelor’s degree in Management and Human Resources and was promoted to a Regional HR Manager.I worked in healthcare until about 7 years ago when to work in the food distribution industry which is where I am at today. I look forward to telling everyone that I have a master’s degree from Tulane University. I decided to enroll at Tulane as it offered the most comprehensive master’s program from a highly respected University. Having an advanced degree from a quality school says a lot about the education and what it took to achieve it.
