What I have learned ....

Writer: Karine K FonroseKarine K Fonrose

Recent and possible Stikes amongst the Writers and Auto Workers.

One of the classes that completed is a labor relations course which included the following :

  • Understanding and knowing what and the NLRB started

  • Understanding the purpose of a union

  • Understand the steps to introducing the thought of having a union on site to executing a CBA.

  • The process of strikes, mediations and grievances

As I follow the writers and automotive strikes, I have better understanding of what is going on and can connect with both sides as they work through their negotiations. I am following the stories closely because I would like to see the outcome and proposals and agreements that led to a signed and ratified contract. This is like the class is unfolding in front of our eyes.
