At the Summer Immersion Weekend 2022, we said goodbye to Professor Joel Friedman. Joel envisioned a legal program where HR professionals could gain concrete and in depth legal training to support the work in employment and labor law. He create a program that has had over 500 graduates in its first six years, and is the leading program in the field.

I was there when Joel first proposed the MJ program -- I was actually on the faculty committee that reviewed the proposal! And I was thrilled when he asked me to develop courses for him -- the IP course, and then the Social Media course, and then finally participating in the Capstone. He was always kind and supportive, and I am grateful to have worked with him on this program and in the JD program.

We are sad to see him go. Here are the story that Tulane Law School ran about Professor Friedman: https://law.tulane.edu/news/after-46-years-tulane-law-professor-friedman-retire

And here are some photographs from the tribute to Joel that took place during Immersion Weekend.
