I’m currently completing my last semester in the MJ-LEL program and I’m mentally preparing myself to start the writing process for my research paper. The process thus far has been a mix of emotions. I’m excited to finalize the research but overwhelmed to start the writing process. I find the writing process to be intimidating. I’ve never enjoyed writing but I’m hoping that selecting a topic that I’m passionate about will change the outcome and make the writing process easier to complete the assigned research paper.
The overwhelming feeling also trails over to my career as an HR professional due to a recent acquisition. Fortunately, I was not laid off, but the change of events has made a lasting impact on the success I feel as an HR professional as my role has shifted. Most days, I’m battling exhaustion and stress from the endless projects and cleanup work from the merge of the companies.
On a positive note, graduation is three months away! Graduating from law school and celebrating with my family and friends has made this challenging journey sweeter. Graduation is my source of motivation when I’m feeling stressed. There is a quote from Winston Churchill that says “Continuous effort- not strength or intelligence- is the key to unlocking our potential. I love this quote as I feel that we can accomplish anything we put our mind to by being consistent and not giving up!
