This is my second year in the Tulane MJ-LEL program (Semester 6!). What a journey this has been! My name is Amy or Mom or Ma or the HR Lady. I am a tremendously busy wife and mom of 6 (ages 27, 24, 15, 14, 10 and 9) and an HR leader. My life is basically constant chaos and anarchy. Some call it chaos, we call it family.
My life has been non-traditional for as long as I can remember. I have never done anything in society's expected way or timing. And that has never mattered to me in the slightest, because say what you want about how I got here, it was a little messy along the way, but what matters is that I got here. And "here" is beautiful.

I chose the Tulane masters program for a couple of reasons. First, it was not a traditional HR management masters program. The MJ-LEL program is designed for the HR professional to transition into a legal professional in the HR space. And for someone who had already worked in HR management and loved the legal aspect of her career, the dialed in focus of this program felt like something that might actually make a career difference for me. And it did. As of February 1, 2024 I have accepted a promotion to Workforce Support Leader US/Canada. In this role I will lead our Workforce Support teams across the US and Canada in the areas of policy, compliance, labor and employment law, performance management, and the development and improvement or employee morale and satisfaction programs. Tulane Law helped me make this happen for me, for my family and for our beautiful mess.
