MJ, Employment and Labor Law, Tulane Law School Class of 2023

I have spent almost 25 years on a unique professional and personal journey that I am quite proud
to have experienced. I graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2001 and received
a Master’s in Business Administration from UMASS-Amherst. As a military veteran, Army
helicopter pilot, Global Human Resources Leader, and mom of three teenagers; I feel like it is
not surprising that I enjoy a good challenge, which is why during the pandemic, I decided to
enroll in the MJ-LEL Program!

After a decade overseas living and working in Dubai and Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), my
family of five, (six including our mini-Yorkie), was ready to embark on our next adventure back
in the United States, closer to extended family and where my three hockey playing teenagers are
now attending high school. I recognized my human resource knowledge and experiences have
been more international with a focus on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) specific
Labor Laws, so I thought this Program at Tulane would be a perfect fit. I am currently the Vice
President of Human Resources of a public start-up, Mitesco Inc., with a focus on health care
technology and Nurse Practioner-led primary care clinics. The MJ-LEL Program has truly
expanded my understanding of U.S. labor and employment laws, which are extremely applicable
as I lead an HR team here in the Twin Cities and across the United States.
